Subject: Sydney Linux Users Group - Install Fest Announcement From: Craige McWhirter<craigem@BabcockBrown.com> To: editorial@australianit.com.au, auscomp@ozemail.com.au, Date: 05 Mar 2001 17:40:44 +1100 SLUG (Sydney Linux Users Group) is having a post-Linux Expo "Install Fest" that may be of interest to some of your audience. I know, the notice is short but so is life ;) There are more details on the website http://www.slug.org.au/ but here are the details of most interest: When: 10:00am til late, Saturday, 10th of March, 2001. Where: Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club Surfview Rd, Mona Vale Beach. Facilities: - 1x large hall - 1x 1st floor room for talks - 1x large outdoor deck - BBQ facilities - 1x large park for your better half and offspring (it's full if kids play things). - Staffed bar. - Apparantly there's a beach too The Philosophy: The idea behind the setting/facilities of this Install Fest was to make this event as much a social occasion as it is an installation event . To make a "day out" of it. The setting is idyllic and we have the upstairs facilities until midnight (should we want to go that long). Thanks for your time :) -- Cheers, Craige.
