LINUX VALLEY: NEW LOOK, NEW SECTIONS

Linux Valley, the flagship Linux Portal for the Italian community, now
completely renewed to be on the fingertips of beginners and experts.

ROME, ITALY - 05 MARCH 2001. From March, 15th Linux Valley
(www.linuxvalley.com), the Italian portal for the Linux operating system,
will be updated.
Graphic, contents and services have been enriched and reorganized for
making it more and more complete and interactive.

Here are all the new features:

[*] New sections

Besides the old sections (News, Columns, Documentazione, Canali, Starting
Grid, Linux Cafè, Job Center), two unpublished sections have been added:

-TAKE A BREAK, dedicated to entertainment, games and fun.
Inside, you can find "MAI DIRE LILO" (a collection of the best and worst
said and written about Linux on the web, newsgroups and mailing lists) and
Comic Strips (strips about the world of technology).
In the same section you can vote the Polls (questions regarding many
subjects), and consult the games zone (including reviews and TIPS & TRICKS)
or take a look at KDE, GNOME themes for X desktops.

-STOCK-X, shows in real time the share quotes of the most relevant
Linux-related companies, information from the main stock-exchanges in the
world, and a lot of daily financial news.

[*] Reordered and newly entitled sections

The documentation section is now called ENCYCLOPEDIA and contains all the
Linux documentation available on the net, useful and nteresting both for
experts and dummies (HOWTOs, Faqs, Man Pages, Web Magazines and all the
LDP-ILDP Projects).

The section CANALI has been renamed DIRECTORY.
Here you can find hundreds of links classified for arguments (application,
hardware, kernel, open source,information, distributions, development,
documentation, X11, business).

[*] Enriched and reorganized sections

Technews and Daily News from the world have been added to the NEWS section.
The STARTING GRID now offers The Newbie Tour, a Linux guide for beginners
and three new areas dedicated to expert users:
- LINUX DISTRIBUTIONS (a commented collection of the Linux distributions)
- SUPPORTED HARDWARE (an inventory of all the devices available for Linux)
- LUG list (a complete list of Italian and International Linux User Groups).

LINUX CAFE' has been reorganized, and now is a multiforum zone with a new
interesting "anarchical area" - FREE AREA - dedicated to
every kind of discussion not necessarily related to the Linux/Open Source
universe.

The JOB CENTER now offers a guide for filling curricula and the Job Parade,
an overview on the most wanted professional profiles in the IT field.

[*] Services

Linux Valley offers a wide range of interactive and community services
(newsletters, mailing lists, faqs, forums, polls, job center, local mirrors,
HOWTOs, online guides), so promoting Its role of flagship for the Italian
Linux users and for national open source community.
