EMBEDDED INTERNET CONFERENCE NEWS BULLETIN - 3/13/01
The conference is August 14-16, 2001 at the Santa Clara Convention Center

To: All Conference Advisory Board members, program participants, exhibitors,
and contacts
From: Dr. Lance A. Leventhal, Program Chairperson (858-756-3327/2656 fax,
lance@embeddedinternet.com <mailto:lance@embeddedinternet.com> )

Hi, everybody!

The program is coming along. However, we have plenty of empty slots (see
attachment) this early in the year. We particularly need longer tutorials
(several 3 ½-hr slots are available on Tuesday - ideal places to discuss
such subjects as embedded java, embedded Linux, developing embedded Web
applications, etc.). Rich Quinnell of TechOnLine (rquinnell@techonline.com
<mailto:rquinnell@techonline.com> ) is our Tutorial Chairperson. We also
need presenters in all sessions and panelists for Wireless Communications,
Internet Appliances, Market Analysis, and Future of Embedded Internet.

Oh, we also need chairpeople -- plus comments on possible topics -- for the
Issues Roundtable (See attachment, then vote for your favorite topic below).

DUE DATES
1) April 30 for program proposals
2) May 11 for materials (advertising, paper titles, tutorial write-ups) for
the Preview Program. We expect to mail more than 50,000 this year.
3) June 15 for Proceedings materials papers and panelist position
statements
4) July 13 for earlybird exhibitor rates
5) July 24 for Conference Directory (final program) materials, including
advertising

CURRENT ISSUES
1) We have 33 exhibitors so far but there's plenty of room left. To reserve
a space, call Rudy Gentry at 972-714-9869 ext. 9503 or e-mail him at
r.gentry@embeddedinternet.com <mailto:r.gentry@embeddedinternet.com> . He
also has information on sponsorships and advertising in the Preview Program
and Conference Directory.

2) Please help us publicize the Conference. We need all the Web site links
we can get to www.embeddedinternet.com <http://www.embeddedinternet.com> .
Mentions on your events page and Web banners are nice, as are notices on
bulletin boards (physical or electronic) and reflectors. Contact marketing
guru Anne O'Neill at a.oneill@embeddedinternet.com
<mailto:a.oneill@embeddedinternet.com> . Web site links produce many of our
contacts and eventual attendees - every little bit helps. If you want
preview programs or other promotional materials to distribute at
conferences, meetings, short courses, etc., send Anne a message.

3. Note that in addition to the educational conference sessions, Embedded
Internet Conference will include several free events, including exhibits,
the Issues Roundtable, the keynote address, receptions, luncheons, and open
tutorials. Here's a great opportunity to educate your customers, prospects,
new hires, marketing and PR personnel, consultants, sales representatives,
VARs, OEMs, partners, venture capitalists, financial analysts and advisors
(who haven't yet jumped out the nearest window!), advertising account
executives, market analysts, technicians, and others. Everyone is welcome!
Watch for the free signup on the Web site.

Thanks, everybody! Don't hesitate to volunteer if you see an opening or
have something you're eager to do or contribute.
