LinuxPPC announces first winner in Mac OS X Celebration Giveaway Contest

LinuxPPC has announced the first winner of its essay contest. LinuxPPC
started the essay contest to celebrate the release of Apple Mac OS X. It
challenges people to write an essay on why they use or would like to use
LinuxPPC, even though Mac OS X is now available.

The first winner is Jiro Fujita of Omaha, Nebraska. His essay has been
posted at:

LinuxPPC extends its congratulations to Mr. Fujita. Nine more winners will
be announced over the next two weeks.

LinuxPPC is staging a contest in which ten lucky people will receive a
free copy of LinuxPPC 2000 Q4, the company's latest version of Linux for
the Power Macintosh platform. They will also receive a copy of FWB Hard
Disk Toolkit*PE, which is capable of repartitioning a hard disk without
erasing it, and a LinuxPPC t-shirt.

To enter the contest, write a brief essay on why you use Linux on the
PowerPC processor, and submit it through the contest web page. There are
no requirements as to the length of the essay. Ten winners will be
selected over ten days from essays submitted through the contest web page.
The contest runs from March 26, 2001 to April 6, 2001.

To enter the contest, go to http://linuxppc.org/contest. There is a form
on that page which you can use to enter your essay. No purchase is
necessary to enter or win the contest.

Winners will be notified by e-mail and announced on the linuxppc.org web
site. The winning essays will be made available on the web site as well.
