Benelux Linux Integrator Stone-IT Wins Innovation Award

Bilthoven (NL) - Last week leading Benelux Linux Integrator Stone-IT
was chosen as the most innovating company for the region Utrecht. The
award (Niet-Dom Trofee) was presented by Syntens, a Dutch innovation
network institute. Syntens selected Stone-IT for their proven market
growth as a direct result of continuous innovation. It was the
eleventh time Syntens Utrecht organized this event.

The jury mentioned the refreshing way in which Stone-IT used Open
Source Software as a way to make a profitable business model. They
were also pleased by the huge and continuous efforts Stone-IT makes in
enhancing open source software. The founders, management team and all
employees of Stone-IT have a clear view of the future of Linux in
business critical environments and they are very enthusiastic in
reaching the same goal.

The fact that the Award was given to a Linux company is a very
positive incentive for the Linux Community and the Linux companies in
The Netherlands. It proves that Linux is mature and can be used for
business purposes.

During the presentation CTO Ruud de Rooij accepted the Award and
thanked co-founder Martijn Smit and all the Stone-IT crew for their
efforts in the last 3 years. According to Ruud de Rooij they played a
prominent role in the success of Stone-IT.  Within the company
experienced IT-people work together with trainees and graduated
students. The management team stimulates the exchange of experiences
and knowledge within their company in the same way the Linux and open
source community is doing.
