SAMSUNG AND LINEO COLLABORATE TO FORM LINEO KOREA

Samsung and Lineo Formalize Embedded Systems Joint Venture 


LINDON, Utah - April 18, 2001 -- Samsung Electronics, Samsung
Electro-Mechanics
 and Lineo,Ô Inc., a leading innovator in embedded systems, real-time
and high availability solutions today formalized their joint venture under
the name Lineo Korea. 

"Establishing Lineo Korea is a strategic move to further strengthen our
efforts with Samsung in establishing embedded Linux as the preferred operating
system among device manufacturers worldwide," said Bryan Sparks, CEO,
Lineo, Inc. "Since the establishment of the joint venture in October 2000,
we have seen increased interest from many global device manufacturers
in the areas of embedded Linux."

The partnership between Samsung and Lineo was designed to provide embedded
systems solutions to the Korean market in general and to the Samsung group
of companies in particular. With the establishment of Lineo Korea, efforts
to provide embedded systems solutions may be pursued more vigorously.
The Lineo Korea office will continue operation just south of Seoul. Currently,
Lineo has offices in Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Korea and Taiwan,
and throughout Canada and the USA.
