From: Jonathan Marsden <jonathan@bach.xc.org> To: lwn@lwn.net Subject: OpenACS 3.2.5 Released Date: Thu, 3 May 2001 15:30:03 -0700 (PDT) The OpenACS community announces OpenACS 3.2.5 01 May 2001 The OpenACS community is happy to announce the release of OpenACS 3.2.5 today. OpenACS is a full-featured free and open source toolkit for creating "Web services with a collaborative dimension". It is based on the ArsDigita Community System (ACS) which uses Oracle as its database. OpenACS uses the free open source database PostgreSQL instead. In addition to a large number of bug fixes, including some important security-related fixes, the 3.2.5 release adds support for the current release of PostgreSQL (release 7.1), which provides increased performance and removes limits to the system as a whole. Compatibility with PostgreSQL 7.0.3 has been retained. The manager for this Release was Roberto Mello <rmello@cc.usu.edu>. OpenACS is maintained as a community project, led by Ben Adida and Don Baccus.
