FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LINEO AVAILIX CLUSTERING 1.3 SHIPS

High availability Linux solution provides extreme availability, redundancy,
high density and scalability for content networking providers of Internet
services

PARIS - May 22, 2001 - Lineo™, Inc., a leading innovator in embedded systems,
real-time and high availability solutions, today announced the availability
of Lineo Availix™ Horizontal Clustering 1.3, a new clustering solution
providing customers with performance for non-stop access services. Availix
Clustering is based on the Linux operating system and provides the CompactPCI
hardware architecture with an immediate, cost-effective solution for high
availability, redundancy, reliability and scalability.

Availix Horizontal Clustering 1.3 (Availix HC 1.3) is the Lineo solution
for medium scalability of up to seven processors. The clustering solution
is designed to meet the needs of ISP and telecomm companies concerning
high-speed, secured transactions and information sharing.

"Availix HC 1.3 is an excellent balance between high speed bus and switched
technology to provide an immediate and effective solution for content
networking providers in need of non-stop access services," said Bruno
Simon, Lineo vice president of infrastructure business. "With Availix
HC 1.3, networking providers are now able to quickly resolve all issues
related to clustering technology in terms of performance, high availability
and administration."

Availix HC 1.3 provides the following capabilities:
·	Support for high speed switched technology based on Fibre Channel
·	Content sharing on a Storage Area Network (SAN) through Global File
System (GFS 4.0.1)
·	SNMP Mibs for administration and maintenance via remote access
·	Oracle Parallel Server 8i using high speed CompactPCI bus on a multi-node
configuration
·	Zeus for HTTP performance and Real server for Audio and Video Streaming
in addition to the Linux distribution
·	Support for the new CompactPCI technology from I-Bus and SAN technology
from MTI and Newnet

Availix HC 1.3 continues to distribute network-type services such as Web
servers, SMTP, FTP, Radius, voice-over-IP or DNS, across a multi-processor
system. Through the distributed architecture, Availix HC 1.3 services
support a high workload without the risk of failure or CPU bottleneck
issues. Users are able to hotswap redundant hardware components in a cluster
without rebooting the entire cluster. These redundant components include
the CompactPCI bus arbiter board, cluster controller board and the cluster
node boards.

Pricing and Availability
Lineo's Availix HC 1.3 is now available and sells for $2,000 per CPU board.
