REDMOND, WA (June 4, 2001) - Redmond Linux, Corp., with its desktop target
and deepLinux of Mountain View, CA, creators of the ExOp Web Server and the
deepLinux Embedded Linux Toolkit, today announced that Redmond Linux has
entered into an agreement to acquire deepLinux. DeepLinux will fold into
Redmond Linux entirely, and provide, among other things, an operations
presence in the Silicon Valley.

The new Redmond Linux will provide an Operating System surrounding the Linux
Kernel that the Corporate Community will find very appealing for the
Desktop, giving way to a new, easier way to migrate Linux with other popular
desktop operating systems. Redmond Linux will also be focusing on the
Server side, Managed Services, Consulting, and Support.

Details of the Agreement
Redmond Linux has reformed as Redmond Linux, Corp. in order to facilitate
the merging of Redmond Linux and deepLinux
.
DeepLinux founder and CTO, Rick Collette, will receive 1,000,000 shares of
Redmond Linux Stock, Corp., which is approximately 20% of the company.
Redmond Linux will assume the future development of the deepLinux Server and
embedded product lines.

Redmond Linux, Corp. will continue to be headquartered in Redmond, WA, with
a location in Denver, CO, and assuming the offices of deepLinux in Mountain
View, CA.
Upon completion of this aquisition, Joseph Cheek will remain as CTO of
Redmond Linux, Corp., and Rick Collette, current CTO of deepLinux will take
the role of VP of Marketing and join the Redmond Linux, Corp. board of
directors. Matt Cheek will become the VP of Sales and join the Redmond
Linux, Corp. board of directors as well.

Looking Forward
Redmond Linux, Corp. is making very firm progress in providing products,
services, and support to the corporate and home PC users of the world. With
a look towards internationalization, managed services, and consulting,
Redmond Linux shows that Linux is indeed for everyone.

About Redmond Linux
Redmond Linux is located in a 45,000 square foot office complex just four
blocks south of Microsoft's main campus in Redmond, Washington. Our company
was started in the year 2000 with a vision of making Linux easy enough for
anyone to use.

About deepLinux
deepLinux was founded in March of 2000 with the idea of making
single-purpose Linux distributions. These distributions would perform a
variety of functions, including Game Systems, Embedded Systems, Web Servers,
Firewalls, and File Servers.

Since birth, deepLinux has undergone some rocky periods, and at one point
became just another Linux News Portal Site.

Now based in the heart of the Silicon Valley, our future is bright, and we
believe that we will make a definite impact in the Single Purpose Server
Market.

And the people that built these companies
Joseph Cheek (CTO and founder of Redmond Linux)
Joseph Cheek's highly technical background has allowed him to work for
companies such as Linuxcare (as a Senior Linux Consultant) and Microsoft (as
a network and systems tester). He co-authored the Integrating Your Network
with Caldera OpenLinux 2.3 book, was a Technical Contributor to Microsoft's
Windows 98 Resource Kit, and writes a monthly Linux column for Computer
Source Magazine.
As an entrepreneur Joseph has worked as a freelance computer network
consultant in both the Novell NetWare and Linux spaces.

Rick Collette (CTO and founder of deepLinux)
Rick has been working in the IT industry for over 12 years. Learning Unix at
an early age, and discovering Linux in the mid-90's. Rick has been Senior
Systems Administrator, Project Manager, and Vice President of Engineering at
several companies around the US. Now based in Mountain View, CA, Rick is
maintaining the deepLinux Product Line in both a development and Executive
role.
