NetLinOS Web Portal launched to foster development of
                     Linux-based Network Appliances

Fremont, CA - June 12th, 2001- The NetLinOS Web Portal, a central
location in the Internet to consolidate the efforts and initiatives
related to Linux-based network connectivity, was released today. The
Web Portal is part of the NetLinOS initiative, created by Cyclades
Corporation to foster the improvement and consolidation of network
connectivity in Linux and the development of Linux-based network
appliances.

"We wanted to create a place in the Internet where visitors can view,
contribute to, and communicate about the latest developments involving
network connectivity in Linux", states Ivan Passos, leader of the
NetLinOS project. He adds, "The idea is not to compete with current
efforts in this arena, but to consolidate these efforts by using
software already developed, contributing new code and focusing on
hardware and software integration to allow the development of
commercial products." NetLinOS was founded on the vision that more
and more technology integration companies will design Linux-based
networking equipment.

NetLinOS is an open initiative, where information and the software
that is developed are available to anyone building Linux-based network
appliances. Furthermore, contributions from the Linux community are
highly encouraged. The objective is to unite existing efforts as well
as start new ones so that Linux can evolve in the network connectivity
arena.

Visitors to the NetLinOS Web Portal will be able to learn more about
the initiative, consult a comprehensive list of products designed and
tested by the NetLinOS team, including "how-to-build" tutorials for
each product listed, as well as access a database of hardware and
software components that can be used to build Linux-based network
connectivity products. There is also a section on the web portal
dedicated to projects related to network connectivity using Linux.

For further information about NetLinOS and on how to contribute
and participate, please check out our web portal at
