Industry leading component tools now available free of charge to students,
educators and researchers

Oakland, CA - June 11, 2001 - Tech Soft America (TSA), the leading provider
of core graphics component technology to the CAD/CAM/CAE industry, today
announced their HOOPS3D.edu Program, which offers the full HOOPS 3D Product
Suite to nonprofit research and educational institutions free of charge. The
HOOPS3D.edu Program will provide students, educators and researchers access
to the engineering software industry’s most powerful and popular graphics
development components.

“We see the HOOPS3D.edu Program as an important part of our commitment to
the development of innovative engineering applications,” stated Rob Mazeffa,
Co-Founder and Member of Technical Staff for TSA. “HOOPS itself was
originally developed by students at Cornell University. As such, we
recognize the importance of student endeavors to advancing technology and
want to encourage them in every possible way to develop the ground-breaking
applications of the future.”

By enrolling in the HOOPS3D.edu Program students, educators and researchers
will have the opportunity to focus on their core discipline rather than
re-inventing a significant set of functionality already encapsulated within
the powerful HOOPS components. By leveraging the HOOPS tools, development
times will be significantly shortened and applications will enjoy
sophisticated, high-performance graphics streaming and/or collaborative
functionality

Added Yanick Fluhmann, Co-Founder and Marketing Director of TSA, “We look
forward to contributing to educational projects and helping students benefit
from the commercial-grade functionality in the HOOPS product suite. By
giving them access to the leading graphics development and streaming
toolkits in use by the CAD/CAM/CAE software industry, we feel we can
directly aid their development efforts and significantly advance the final
results of their work.”

The HOOPS3D.edu Program includes:

A development license and a one year Update Subscription for the entire
HOOPS 3D Product Suite, including:

·HOOPS 3D Application Framework (HOOPS/3dAF) – An extensible, high-level
component that dramatically simplifies the design, development and
maintenance of high-performance, interactive 2D/3D applications for Windows,
UNIX, LINUX or the Web.

·HOOPS Stream Toolkit (HOOPS/Stream) – A streaming component that may be
used as an independent module within an existing application or in
conjunction with HOOPS/3dAF. HOOPS/Stream enables applications to
efficiently and intelligently stream highly compressed files containing 2d,
3d and custom data over Internet connections of any bandwidth.

·HOOPS Net Server (HOOPS/Net) - A client/server framework that facilitates
the rapid development of networked applications, particularly those with
collaborative functionality. HOOPS/Net may be used as an independent
component for adding collaborative functionality to existing applications or
in conjunction with other HOOPS components such as the HOOPS/3dAF and
HOOPS/Stream.

·On-Line Support Resources - Online access to the HOOPS Developer Web site
for documentation, programming tips, FAQ’s, discussion forums and downloads.
