FSMLabs Announces RTLinux Support for Ampro Single-Board Computers

(June 14, 2001; Socorro, NM) Finite State Machine Labs: the
RTLinux[tm] Company, and Ampro, inventor of the PC/104 standard, have
joined joined forces to support FSMLabs's RTLinux on Ampro's line of
single-board computers. Support for Ampro SBCs will reduce embedded
system time-to-market by making the RTLinux hard realtime OS more
accessible to developers.

"Our goal is to make RTLinux-based system development as simple and
problem-free as possible. Solid support for RTLinux on the industry
standard AMPRO boards is a big step towards that goal," said Victor

High-speed, efficient and small, RTLinux is a hard realtime kernel
based on the POSIX 1003.13 PS51 specification. Using a patented
dual-kernel design, it runs a general purpose OS (Linux or BSD UNIX)
as the lowest priority thread of the realtime kernel. As a result,
realtime software components run in a predictable low latency
environment. Developers have access to the full power of the general
purpose OS, including its applications and development tools greatly
improving development efficiency and time-to-market for realtime
applications.
