From: Keith Owens <kaos@ocs.com.au> To: kbuild-devel@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [kbuild-devel] kbuild 2.5 latest update Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2001 21:39:54 +1000 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii After a lot of hard slog, kbuild 2.5 has now closed the implicit dependency loop. That is, when you rerun kbuild, it knows which targets depend on which input files and on which config options, based on feedback from the previous kbuild. kbuild-2.4.4 is under http://sourceforge.net/projects/kbuild/. I have been working on kernel 2.4.4 until I was happy with the implicit dependency feedback loop. Next I will upgrade to Linus's latest kernel. Read Documentation/kbuild/kbuild-2.5.txt for some docs. TODO: Add CML2. Add autoprobe. Upgrade to Linus's latest. Add more options to the install menu. Build vmlinux correctly, the first few files should depend on the install type. More docs. Other architectures. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Exmh version 2.1.1 10/15/1999 iD8DBQE7TYyJi4UHNye0ZOoRAmZuAJ49/miic79BoRj4x02mVwP3gWA8vQCgt9hV GQIr/kjGZreOqBCOrO0EB44= =3WNy -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ kbuild-devel mailing list kbuild-devel@lists.sourceforge.net http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/kbuild-devel
