we've done a lot of work on build 38 and are pleased to announce its 
arrival.  i don't feel comfortable calling it RC0 yet, so i'll call it 
pre-RC0.  39 or perhaps 40 will be RC0.

this one has a lot of cool fixes and more eye candy, but since our ftp 
site is back to a single T1 we ask you download ISO images from a mirror 
and not ftp.redmondlinux.org.  you'll get better bandwidth anyway.

changes:

* added tulip network driver to initial probe list
* /mnt/cdrom created, points to [last] cdrom in system
* /dev/dvd created, points to [last] dvd in system
* updated kernel to 2.4.7-ac5, added eepro100 fix
* updated pup, padd scripts, added bls [bug list] script
* cleaned up wallpapers, removed ugly wallpapers and themes
* added RL themes
* added sendmail, procmail to server pak
* added pop3, imap servers
* forced 88dpi AA fonts to clear up font issue
* rescue disk fixed
* kautorun/autorun.sh fixed!
* kautorun now starts kscd when music cd inserted
* updated xine DVD player
* kautorun now starts DVD player when DVD inserted
* /etc/hosts now gets updated for dhcp ip addresses
* added dhcp server to server pak
* re-fixed samba autoconfigure domain name code so it works this time
* fixed net-pf-{4,5,9} errors
* added easter egg 8-)
* updated mozilla -> 0.9.3
* updated koncd -> 0.9.2
* added circuslinux to gamepak
* updated boot splashscreens!
* updated kde to 2.2 final with bug fixes

SHOWSTOPPER BUGS:
- i810 audio doesn't work
- sysinfo halts if ide zip drive found

CRITICAL BUGS:
- isapnp probing fails [due to missing /proc/bus/isapnp/devices file?]
- /dev/cdrom not created on HD install?

BUGS:
- sound blaster awe64 not ISApnp probed, causes install to fail if zip
  drive is attached to IDE port
- ms nat pro usb kb hangs entire system if caps lock pressed twice
  [only on certain hw combinations]
- noatun MPEG video support poor
- joy-pci gets probed but not installed

TODO:
- add audiocd:// io slave?
- remove logout daemon
- arrange desktop icons correctly
- separate backgrounds into themes
- have acpid rc script load appropriate modules
- edit ktip tips
- add my linux system support for zip disks
- trash -> recycle bin
- have rlnethood return server if no master browser found?
- .bmp -> kview
- .doc -> kword
- kedit 11 pt fonts
- add MPEG videos?
- change permissions on /dev/sg* for cdrecord, koncd
- add aureal sound support
- alias binfmt-0000 off
 
FIXED BUT NOT VERIFIED:
- tulip gets probed on install

- i810 system doesn't install
- digital clock default
- eepro100 hangs machine under high network traffic
- remove i810-tco from pci.ids
- get create rescue disk working
- lighter blue selected text
- mod_quickcam doesn't load
- make rlizard rescue disk more granular
- ugly wallpapers gone
- ugly themes gone
- fixed net-pf-{4,5,9} errors
- modify boot images, remove Caldera logos
- ifup-dhcp doesn't modify /etc/hosts
- starting KDE -> starting Desktop
- samba finally really autoconfigures smb domain from dns domain
