August 20th 2001,

Microquest announces today the introduction of a DVD/CDRW drive for the
Thinkpad 600 series of computers.
There are now three drives in this series: a 4X writer, an 8X writer and now
the 8X DVD/CDRW drive.
These drives are new drives that plug into the ultraslimbay of Thinkpad 600s,
600Es, and 600Xs.

If you have been looking for a CDRW drive for your Thinkpad 600/e/x or 570,
look no farther, these are the only commercially available CDRW drives. I
know, I looked too. Thats why I decided to fix the problem. Now you can burn
CD's right from your laptop with MP3's or backup your files, make archives of
important data or images, whatever. CDRW-1 and CDRW-2 are recognized by all
major CD-RW software packages including Adaptec/Roxio CD Creator, Nero,
CDWin, etc.., Will also work in Linux (Red Hat verified). The drives can be
used to start-up the system from bootable CD's. These drives also work in the
external PCMCIA-based Ultraslimbay module.

NOW you can watch DVD's, burn CDR's, rewrite CDRW's and also read regular
CDROMs, all with ONE drive, the Microquest CDRW-3 DVD/CDRW drive! The
DVD/CDRW drive is currently only supported by the Nero CD Burning Software on
Windows. A demo version is included with the drive.

Retail Prices for the drives are $249 for 4X CDRW-1, $349 for 8X CDRW-2, and
$399 for the CDRW-3, the DVD/CDRW which is an 8X DVD, 8X CDRW, and 24X CDROM
drive.
