From: Olivier Fourdan <fourdan@xfce.org> To: xfce@moongroup.com, xfce-dev@moongroup.com Subject: Xfce going to rox-filer Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 00:20:54 +0200 Cc: Thomas Leonard <tal00r@ecs.soton.ac.uk> Hi all, We all know that xftree needs to be replaced. And it's going to be in fact... with ROX-filer I talked to Thomas, who is the lead developper of the ROX-filer project, and we are both glad to announce that Xfce is going to use ROX as its primary file manager very soon (hopefully, if I can find some time to merge some part of ROX filer with libxfcecore to avoid duplication of code) I hope this will give more exposure to ROX and Xfce will have a new (and great) file manager. ROX and Xfce have a lot in common, in fact : Both try to implement a lighter desktop, both use GTK+ as gfx lib, and both need more exposure... Thomas has made a similar announcement on ROX lists (and I'm now subscribed to both users and dev lists for ROX) Sounds cool, huh !
