 We are often asked " When will I receive my LPIC-1 Certificate? "

 If 12 weeks have passed and you have not received your certificate,
 please don't hesitate to contact us to confirm that it is on it's
 way; info@lpi.org

 2. Training Centres and Training Ideas;

 The website http://www.lintraining.com is a central point to find
 a Linux training centre - it is totally independent from LPI, but it
 really helps folk find a place to get some Linux training and some
 ideas regarding Linux events taking place.
 If your training centre is doing Linux courses, please add yourself
 to the site.

 There are also training ideas that can be found on the LPI web-site;
 http://www.lpi.org/c-preparation.html
 Please take a look at the books, training centres, web-based
 training, courseware and trainers - that are available
 Some of our volunteers have taken time to prepare courseware
 to assist our candidates.

 For Level 2 preparation we had some friends in The Netherlands who
 prepared the following;

 8. Level 1

 LPI is continuing to update the Level 1 exams, updating obsolete
testing
 items and adding new ones. To get involved with development or review,
 contact kara@lpi.org, and help us launch our new Level 1 exams in Q1
 2002

 9. Level 1 Graduates - Plastic Identity Cards.

 LPI Alumni have asked us to create plastic cards which can be used to
 verify certification status when talking with current or potential
 employers, clients, or friends.

 A few Alumni and friends have generously donated $100 to cover
 production costs, but we need several more donations in order to
 create the cards.

 Please consider a $100 donation - (where your name will appear on the
 LPI
 website as a sponsor) earmarked for the Alumni Certification Cards.
 To make it simple, you can use www.paypal.com from anywhere in the
 world by sending your donation to wilma@lpi.org.
 Or send your cheque to LPI.

 10. LPI Trademarks

 It is our pleasure to announce that our first Tradmark has been
 approved, in the European Union.
 The name "Linux Professional Institute" has finally been approved by
 the EU.

 The process for applying for Trademarks is a lengthy one, and it is
 very exciting to see the first one become a reality.

 11. Linux Articles for Publication

 LPI is looking for articles and stories on various Linux topics.
 Linux success stories, GNU Linux or Open Source in general - or LPI
 exam stories. The topic is very wide, and can be about any type of
 Linux area. All articles are appreciated.

 Please send your story to; thelinuxguy@gemair.com
 Don Corbett - (another of our supportive volunteers), will send the
 stories to the relevant news and magazine publishers.

 Once again, thanks to all volunteers and friends of LPI for your
 support.
