From: Mike Markley <mike@markley.org> To: debian-devel-announce@lists.debian.org Subject: gnome-pilot 0.1.63 fixes serious data corruption bug Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2001 03:23:34 -0800 gnome-pilot 0.1.62 had a serious bug in the backup/file conduit code which caused the synched Palm device to crash hard, requiring a hard reset and therefore a loss of data on the device, under two circumstances: 1. While installing a new file 2. While restoring backed-up files This has been fixed in 0.1.63-1, now in incoming. It is recommended that all gnome-pilot users upgrade as soon as possible. Upstream also recommends that you delete all prior backups; they can be found in the backup/ directory of your Palm's directory, as configured in the druid. Simply removing the backup/ directory is sufficient. -- Mike Markley <mike@markley.org> GPG: 0x3B047084 7FC7 0DC0 EF31 DF83 7313 FE2B 77A8 F36A 3B04 7084 First study the enemy.
