New Features in Version 3.30

Open Beta Support For Linux 2.4.8 Series Kernels

The SAND architecture now supports the Linux 2.4.x series kernels.
Support for Linux 2.4.x series kernels is now available for OPEN BETA
ONLY. This open beta release has been tested with Linux 2.4.8 kernels.
This open beta release is recommended for any customer using Linux 2.4.x
series kernels, and especially for customers who wish to test the new
functionality before the general availability release of 2.4.x series
support.

General Release of Multiplexing Support

SAND Version 3.30 includes the general release for multiplexing of T1 and
E1 interfaces on the 654 and 658 series cards. Up to 127 total hardware
subinterfaces can be created per card in the system. Support for this
feature was introduced in Version 3.26. All known bugs have been fixed as
of Version 3.30.

Support For WANic/Aries 700 Series Cards

Version 3.30 of SAND supports the 1- and 2-port HSSI and integrated
CSU/DSU cards based on the 700 series chipset.

----------------------------

Bugs fixed in Version 3.30

The following bugs have been fixed in SAND Version 3.30:

Low Traffic Volume Latency Problem With 1000 Series DS-3 Cards Corrected

Under low traffic loads, timer code in the WANic/Aries 1000 series
hardware driver increased packet latency to 10 ms under Linux 2.2.x
kernels. Version 3.30 correctly handles packet processing to eliminate
the added latency. Linux 2.4.x users were unaffected by this bug.
