Subject: [ANNOUNCE] Linux-ABI 2.4.15.0
Date: Sat, 24 Nov 2001 22:28:00 +0100
The Linux-ABI 2.4.15.0 release for Linux 2.4.15 is now available.
Linux-ABI is a patch against the Linux Kernel to support running
binaries compiled for non-Linux operating systems.
The current release supports the following operating systems:
System V Release 3 (SVR3)
System V Release 4 (SVR4)
SCO Unix 3.x
SCO Xenix 386
SCO Xenix 286 (with userspace x286emul)
SCO OpenDesktop
SCO OpenServer
SCO UnixWare 7/Caldera OpenUnix8
Sun Solaris 2
Wyse V/386
ISC Interactive Unix
Currently only the Intel/i386 platform is supported.
The following changes have been made in this release:
- simplified wyse socket handling. Now using native syscalls directly
where possibles, else using normal calling conventions.
- fixed <linux/syscall.h> compilation for non-i386 machines (Olaf Hering)
- fixed alignment checks in binfmt_xout (based on patch by Joerg Ahrens)
- rewrite of abi_brk: fix (theoretical) races, check for page alignment
- don't try to take a non-existant lock in xnx_nap, cleanup xnx_nap.
- fix value reported by sysi86(SI86MEM).
Note that this patch also applies against 2.4.16-pre1 and I _stongly_
encourage you to use that one if you like your data.
