TimeSys today announced the availability of TimeSys Linux GPL for six of the
most popular embedded boards supporting multiple microprocessor
configurations.  TimeSys Linux GPL is the lowest-latency Linux kernel
available for embedded systems developers, including a fully preemptible
Linux kernel, all the libraries, tool chains, utilities, drivers, scripts and
documentation needed to develop, deploy and maintain an embedded platform.
TimeSys Linux GPL is now available and is distributed freely from
www.timesys.com under the GNU General Public License.  

Additionally, TimeSys has also announced the addition of a number of industry
veterans to its management team as it prepares to dominate the embedded Linux
and embedded Real-Time Linux market.

Technology, Business Development and Finance Executives Join Embedded
Software Leader


Pittsburgh, PA - December 11, 2001 -TimeSys Corporation today announced that
it has added four new executives to its management team.  These new managers
bring years of experience, leadership and success to TimeSys as it launches
its new product strategy and expands its market presence.  TimeSys develops
and markets the leading design and analysis tools for real-time embedded
Linux and Java systems.  Kurt Friedrich is the company's new Vice President
of Engineering; John Bugos joins as the company's new Chief Financial
Officer; Mike Brennan as Vice President of Business Development and Vincent
Thomas as Vice President of International Business Development.

approach to making TimeSys' Embedded Linux widely available to the developer
community is attracting the attention of the industry's best and brightest,"

About the New Executives
Kurt Friedrich, Vice President Engineering, manages the deployment of all
TimeSys products.  Kurt has 30 years experience in the computer industry,
almost all of it working in the operating system organizations within major
computer companies. At Digital Equipment Corporation, he was the Product
Manager for the RSX-11M operating systems, the Engineering Manager of the
VAX/VMS operating system, and the Vice President of the Open Systems group.
At Hewlett-Packard he was the General Manger of the Open Systems Division,
responsible for HP's 
HP-UX UNIX, DCE, and CORBA products.  Kurt was the Senior Vice President of
Engineering for Tandem Computers, where he was responsible for all aspects of
Tandem's Non-Stop product line. More recently, Kurt was Chief Technical
Officer for the Internet startup Open Market, and Vice President of
Engineering and Services for the Clariion division of Data General. In
addition to a BSEE from Carnegie Mellon University, Kurt received an MBA from
Northeastern University.


John Bugos, Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for directing corporate
financial and corporate development activities.  Prior to joining TimeSys,
John served as Vice President of Finance and CFO at EJIVA Inc. (an IGATE
Capital portfolio company).  Previously, he held a series of finance and
administration positions with FORE Systems Inc. (later merged into Marconi
PLC), and eventually was named Vice President of Finance for Marconi
Communications.  Mr. Bugos has also served a diverse set of clients and
industries on financial and operational issues as a management consultant
with both Deloitte & Touche LLP and Booz Allen & Hamilton.  Mr. Bugos holds a
BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA
from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mike Brennan, Vice President of Business Development, is responsible for
developing and managing domestic strategic business relationships for
TimeSys.  He has more than 10 years of executive marketing and business
development experience with several entrepreneurial ventures, including
Laminar Software, Webmedx, and Industry.Net.  Mike started his career as a
marketing manager with IBM Corporation.  He received an M.B.A. from Harvard
Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon University in
Economics and Industrial Engineering. 

Vincent Thomas, Vice President International Business Development, has over
15 years of experience in international high tech companies.  Most recently
Vincent was Director of International Operations for web services pioneer
Bowstreet, where he was responsible for establishing the company's overseas
locations and forging strategic relationships with systems integration
partners. Prior to that, Vincent was the first employee in Asia Pacific for
Tivoli Systems, and was responsible for establishing the company throughout
the region. As Managing Director of Tivoli Systems Japan Inc., he was
instrumental in growing Tivoli from a private company to a
multibillion-dollar IBM company. Fluent in Japanese, he also held various
sales and management positions at Itochu Techno-Science Corp., the technical
arm of Japan's largest trading company Itochu Corporation. A native of
Ireland, Thomas holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from Dublin Institute of
Technology.
