4. LPI - ITALY and LPI - INDIA (International Issues)

We also have new contacts in Italy and in India who would like to
bring LPI to their countries.

Ernesto Ferrari in Italy has been supporting LPI for some time, and
if anyone would like to participate in his mailing list, please
contact him here;

        ernesto@it.lpi.org
He has plans to promote LPI all over Italy.

Arun Eapen resides in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala City in
India. He is a software engineer, and would be pleased to hear from
anyone interested in LPI in India. Please contact him through the

As you can see - we continue to bring LPI to as many areas of the world

5. Volunteer of the Month - ERNESTO FERRARI

Ernesto is a hard working LPI supporter who is trying hard to being
LPI to Italy. LPI would like to recognize Ernesto for his attempts
to encourage and assist LPI candidates.

Ernesto lives in Modena, Italy and works as a consultant
He recently returned from a trip to Australia, and with some
encouragement from our International mailing list chairman, Greg Wright
(who lives in Australia) - has decided to open the mailing list for
LPI candidates in Italy (see section 4 above).

Good-luck Ernesto.

6. Sponsor in the Spotlight - http://www.mandrakesoft.com

Mandrake is a long time supporter and sponsor, and has
recently offered to assist at the Cebit show in Hannover Germany.

They are going to be part of the consortium that will sponsor a
test site at Cebit in Hannover in March 2002.
(More on this next month !)

7. Expiry date of your LPI Certificate.

LPI was set up to offer certification that does not expire.
Each LPI certificate is printed with the following disclaimer;

"LPI does not expire certifications. We recommend that the age
of all certifications be considered when using them as a basis
for judging contemporary skills."

We hope that candidates will re-certify themselves as their
certificate becomes stale and out-of-date, and technology changes.

8. For assistance in training for your exams, please check the
following webpage;
http://www.lpi.org/c-preparation.html
and
http://www.lintraining.com

Don't forget that LPI is a neutral organization, and we encourage
candidates to train in the best way for them, either books, classes,
web-based training plus plenty of keyboard time and some experience.

The LPI News is being published early in the month, as we prepare for
our trip to Linux World in New York.
If you have any questions, thoughts or concerns - please contact us;
info@lpi.org

Thanks for all your support over the past 2 years.
