Knox Software Releases the 2002 Arkeia Power Awards Small Office Category Award Goes To Exabyte LinuxWorld Expo New York City, NY January 30, 2002 - Knox Software Corp., a Southern California-based supplier of network backup software, has released the winning companies of the 2002 Arkeia Power Awards. The Arkeia Power Awards are an objective formula-based benchmarking analysis that will determine the best price-to-performance storage hardware library. This year's Arkeia Power Award for Small Office solutions is awarded to Exabyte Corporation for their EZ17 Autoloader, which received the highest category score, reaching 9.08. "We are very pleased to be this year's recipient of the Arkeia Power Award. Our Exabyte EZ17 autoloader provides small office users a compelling storage solution at an excellent value for data backup, archival and restoration," stated Peri Grover, Director of Automation Product Marketing. Created to provide an independent, real-world objective analysis of the performance and cost comparison of the various hardware manufacturers in the storage library marketplace, the Arkeia Power Awards highlight the actual throughput and weighs that performance against the street price of the solution. Utilizing our own certification lab we can measure the performance of various manufacturer's hardware and benchmark that performance against other manufacturers, noted Knox Software's Jay Jason Bartlett, Director of Strategic Relations. We continually receive requests from our customers asking us which library hardware we recommend. With the Arkeia Power Award we are able to objectively showcase real-world conditions that our customers would understand and allow for an informed buying decision,² stated Philippe Roussel, CEO of Knox Software. The Arkeia Power Awards are delivered twice a year at the LinuxWorld Expos. Exabyte's award will be presented to them at the LinuxWorld Expo in New York City on January 30th. Other benchmarking data and winners will also be on display. You can see the complete report on the Arkeia web site: http://www.arkeia.com/apa.html.
