The LWN 1999 Linux Timeline
What a year. We went into 1999 expecting Linux to do incredible things,
and were still amazed. Linux is truly on a roll.
In the same spirit as our popular 1998 Linux Timeline, here is our
attempt to summarize what has happened in the Linux world over the last
year. This is version 1.0 of the LWN 1999 Linux Timeline.
Work on the timeline is essentially finised now; nonetheless, if there is
an important item missing please drop us a note
at lwn@lwn.net to let us know
what we missed.
The 1999 timeline
This year we have split the timeline up into individual months, for quick
loading and ease of access.
